Cornerstone Peers

The Cornerstone Peers scholarship and support program helps incoming students to develop foundational academic skills through scholarship funding and a student success checklist.  Incoming Cornerstone students are also provided a peer support network to help them positively transition to college life and workload.

Admissions Process

Students are automatically selected to participate in the program. 

Benefits

  • Cornerstone Kickoff which allows you to move into your residence hall early and participate in a pre-orientation program to make connections with other Cornerstone students.
  • Peer support network with a cohort of other first-year students.
  • Access to a dedicated professional staff member.
  • Assigned upper-classman Peer Mentor.
  • Foundational college skill development.
  • Scholarship support for 3 semesters totaling $2,250.

A&R Days

  • Meet with Cornerstone Program to learn about the program and what to expect.
  • $500 scholarship applied for the fall semester. 

Cornerstone Kickoff Weekend

  • Students will move-in early the weekend before the start of Orientation Week.
  • Students will have the opportunity to connect with their peers, meet their academic departments, and refresh their academic success skills.

First Semester

  • Students complete the Student Success Checklist.
  • Student attends a biweekly peer-to-peer mentor meeting.
  • Students maintain a 2.0 or higher grade point average.
  • $750 scholarship applied for the second semester.

Second Semester

  • Students complete the Student Success Checklist.
  • Student attends a biweekly peer-to-peer mentor meeting.
  • Students maintain a 2.0 or higher grade point average.
  • $1,000 scholarship applied for the third semester.

Peer Mentors

Cornerstone Peer Mentors are upperclassmen who provide Cornerstone Students support during their first year. They will provide 1-1 meeting and facilitate the biweekly peer-to-peer groups.
