Program Requirements

First-year honors scholars are broken into 2 different Honors groups, the Living Learning Community (LLC) and the non-LLC.  Each group is required to attend and participate in the New Scholars Honors Seminars, a no-cost, no-credit course, during their first year at Missouri S&T.  These seminars provides scholars an opportunity to explore and learn more about advanced research methods, academic writing, engage with key note guest speakers and learn about what it means to be a Chancellors Honors Scholar.  In addition, scholars can participate in social activities such as a formal gala banquet with faculty members and other Honors Academy Scholars.

The Office of Undergraduate Research will enroll the scholars in the no-cost, no-credit Honors Seminar.  (Transfer students may join New Scholars Honors Seminar during the Fall or Spring semester.)
