Why join the Chancellors Honors Academy?

Missouri S&T's Chancellors Honors Academy is more than an academic program — it's an opportunity to challenge yourself, discover your potential, and prepare for a successful future.  If you're ready to learn at a higher level, connect with motivated peers, and stand out among your classmates, the Chancellors Honors Academy is the place for you.

Challenge - Explore - Develop

As a S&T Chancellors Honors Academy Scholar you will challenge your academics, explore the community around you and develop your leadership skills.

Challenge your academic curiosity by completing one of the following academic enrichment requirements:  

  • Undergraduate Minor
  • Double Major 
  • Complete at least 12 credit hours of Honors Courses 
Explore the community around you by completing at least 50 hours with experiences such as:  
  • Service Learning or Community Service
  • Study Abroad 
  • Undergraduate Research 
  • Co-op or Internship 

Develop leadership skills with taking a hands on approach by completing at least 15 hours serving in roles like:

  • Leadership position within a Design Team
  • Hold an elected executive officer position of president within a registered student organization.
  • Hold an elected executive officer position within the Greek Community (e.g. chapter president, serve on one of the governing council, or national organization).
  • Serve within a formal mentor position on campus (Pro Leader, Student Success Coach, Resident Assistant, etc.)

Honors Living-Learning Community

Chancellors Honors Academy Scholars interested in joining the Honors Living-Learning Community should complete the following steps by February 22, 2026, to receive priority consideration:

  • Register for an A&R (Advising and Registration) Day.
  • Pay the enrollment fee.
  • Complete the housing application.
  • Complete the Housing Interest Form (HIF).

The HIF will be sent to students starting November 2025, once the above three steps are completed. Additionally, students must apply to the Honors Academy by February 15, 2026.

If assigned to the Honors community, students will receive their housing assignments by March 2025.

Note: Spaces in the Honors Living-Learning Community are limited. Priority is based on the date students submit their Housing Information Form (HIF), which becomes available on December 1.

Chancellors Honors Academy Scholarship

Missouri S&T Chancellor's Honors Academy Scholars are eligible for a renewable $1,000 scholarship for up to eight semesters.  

Recognition

Scholars who successfully complete the program receive special recognition at graduation and are eligible to graduate as an Chancellors Honors Academy Fellows.  This Fellowship will be noted on their diploma, transcript, and commencement program.

Scholars must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Honors Academy:

  • Have a ACT score is 29 or higher/SAT is 1340 or above, &
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.75

Scholars must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Honors Academy:

  • Have a minimum college GPA of 3.5 
  • Completed one semester (12 credit hours) of college courses

Scholars must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Honors Academy:

  • They have a minimum GPA of 3.5
  • A minimum of 24 S&T graded, college-level credits

Scholars must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Honors Academy:

  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.75
  • Review of written essays submitted with application to Missouri S&T

Eligible scholars who are accepted into Missouri S&T will receive an email invitation to apply for the Honors Academy beginning in October 2026.
